SilverCat’s New 47 Rethinks the Family Catamaran
Some of the most interesting luxury on the water is being built closer to home than you might expect. SilverCat, the power catamaran arm of the Emirati builder Gulf Craft, has just opened a second generation of its range, and it begins with the all-new SilverCat 47. Unveiled in Umm Al Quwain and designed entirely in-house, it is a family cruiser with a wider stance, brighter interiors and a quietly greener core.

A Wider Take on the Catamaran
The headline change is proportion. The new generation is built on a larger beam-to-length ratio, which translates, in plain terms, into more room, bigger social areas inside and out, and a stronger sense of connection to the sea. Outdoor entertaining spaces are designed to pull owners and guests toward the water rather than away from it.
The wider beam does more than add space. SilverCat says it also improves the stability and seaworthiness the brand is known for, along with range and cruising efficiency, while open-plan layouts and panoramic glazing keep the interiors bright and easy to live in.

Inside the First Model
The first model to carry the new look is the SilverCat 47, the latest in the brand’s Family Series. Its 4.92-metre beam gives it what SilverCat describes as one of the largest aft entertainment areas in its class, with optional fold-down balconies that extend the cockpit toward the water and an in-house-developed automatic swim ladder for easy access.
Forward, a shaded lounge seats up to eight, a wide patio door folds the salon and cockpit into a single space, and a twin-seat social helm keeps the driver in the company of guests. “Every line, feature and material has been carefully developed to create a distinctive SilverCat identity,” says Cristiana Cassese, Product Marketing Specialist at SilverCat, “one that delivers exceptional comfort, effortless entertaining and a true luxury experience for owners.”
Family First
Built for Together, and for the Heat
This is a boat built for time together. The 47 offers en-suite accommodation with generous natural light and ventilation, configurable galley options and a tropical HVAC package engineered for reliable performance in warmer climates, a detail that matters for a Gulf summer.
It also nudges the category toward sustainability. The hull uses an rPET foam core made from 100 percent recycled plastic which, the brand says, significantly cuts production emissions compared with conventional SAN foam, while matching the strength expected of a premium catamaran.

There is a particular pride in seeing world-class craft built in the region rather than merely imported into it. With the SilverCat 47, Gulf Craft makes the case again that the Gulf is not only a market for luxury on the water but a maker of it. For a family that treats the sea as an extension of home, the appeal is simple: more space, more light, and a lighter footprint to go with it.
